What does "one way" in bartending terminology mean? ?

Question: What does "one way" in bartending terminology mean? ?

I ordered a buttery nipple shot last week, and the bartender asked me if I wanted it "one way. " I said yes (to avoid looking stupid), because I had no idea what she was asking. She mixed up the drink with those little travel bottles, if that helps anyone answer my question. Thanks for your help. I didn't see exactly what she mixed into it. I was in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at the time.

Thats something new that I have never heard of as far as ordering drinks! Here in NY, we call "one ways " customers that drive you nuts, have no patience when they know your busy and they want all of your attention and then they DONT TIP!!!! Do you remember what they put in your buttery nipple? Because a buttery nipple should be baileys and butterscotch in a shot glass! (Kahula is good instead of baileys too!)

I have been bartending for years and have never heard this either! Of course, different areas of the country have different slang in the bars, but if you do find out, can you post it for the rest of us...just in case we hear it?
